What You Need to Get Started

iPhone or Android

iOS 15 or later, or Android 10 or later. Any modern smartphone from the past few years will work.

A Stripe Account

Flow connects to Stripe for all payment processing. You can create a free Stripe account as part of setup if you don’t have one yet.

Internet Connection

Flow requires an active internet connection to process payments. Mobile data or Wi-Fi both work.

Optional: Card Reader

A Stripe-compatible Bluetooth card reader is optional. Tap to Pay and manual entry work without any hardware.

Before You Download

No. You can download and explore Flow without a Stripe account. When you’re ready to accept real payments, you’ll connect or create a Stripe account inside the app. Creating a Stripe account is free and takes a few minutes.
Absolutely. Sign in with your Flow email or Stripe connection during setup. Your payment, balance, payout, invoice, and hosted-link activity loads from Stripe/Flow services. No data migration required.
If you already have a verified Stripe account, setup can be completed in minutes after installing the app. If you need to create a new Stripe account, the additional time depends on Stripe’s verification process.
The app has no monthly subscription. On successful payments, Flow charges a 1% app fee plus Stripe’s standard payment processing fee. There is no Flow fee on failed payments.
Flow supports common mobile and in-person Stripe payment flows, including Tap to Pay (NFC contactless), supported Stripe readers, manual card entry, payment links (customer pays online), invoices, and subscription links. The exact methods available depend on your Stripe account configuration and country.
Yes. All payment processing is handled by Stripe, which is PCI-DSS compliant and one of the most trusted payment platforms in the world. Flow never stores raw card numbers. Sensitive payment data is tokenized and processed entirely within Stripe’s secure infrastructure.
